EMEL is the voice of the non-government environment sector at the regional level in the East Midlands. We have 7 member organisations covering the full spectrum of environmental issues. We work in association with a number of government agencies to ensure this experience and knowledge informs the regional decision making process.

Formed in 2000 by voluntary youth groups and networks across the region, EMVY aims to be an inclusive and diverse network for the voluntary youth sector, providing strategic support, influence and advocacy at a regional level.
This website is the result of the EMVY Conference in May 2006, where delegates recognised the need for a regional website to provide resources and information to help people working in the field, and also to have capacity for any youth group or organisation to have their space within this regional site

EMRAF Annual Confernce Report
The 9th EMRAF annual conference “Rural People Shaping Rural Communities” took place on Friday 2nd July 2010 at Eastwood Hall, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. The theme for this successful event was Community Empowerment. A confererence report, delegate feedback and minutes from the day can be downloaded from the news section of this website.
