ACRE is active in promoting the interests of rural communities and acts as the national umbrella organisation for 38 Rural Community Councils throughout England. ACRE's organisational vision is to provide a rural community development centre of expertise that is extensively used by policy makers and practitioners.

The Bioenergy Group East Midlands is an informal partnership of organisations from the private, public and not for profit sectors within the East Midlands region, which are collectively seeking ways to increase the use of locally grown biomas for the creation of heat and energy, focusing mainly on wood fuels, primarily woodchip and wood pellet.

The CRC’s role is to provide well-informed, independent advice to government and ensure that policies reflect the real needs of people living and working in rural England, with a particular focus on tackling disadvantage.

Community Lincs, Lincolnshire's Rural Community Council, has operated as a rural community development charity and infrastructure body, helping other voluntary and community organisations to function more effectively, since 1927. During the past 80 years it has delivered advice and support of an exceptional quality enabling communties, groups, enterprises and individuals to realise their potential and to tackle the challenges faced by rural residents.
