Rural Charter for the East Midlands
Rural Business Champions
Make a positive difference to your business, to your employees, to your customers and to East Midlands rural communities by signing up to the Region's Rural Charter.
We are looking for 100 companies that wish to share in the economic and social prosperity of the region's rural areas.
The prize is a large one given that 40% of the region's population live in rural areas. For business there is the opportunity to
- Reduce costs through local sourcing and improved supply chain.
- Provide services to rural areas in new and innovative ways.
- Open up new market opportunities in rural areas.
- Attract and retain high quality employees who live in rural areas.
- Motivate staff through involvement in the local community.
- Improve customer and employee loyalty in rural areas.
The Rural Charter provides the route for companies to make a real contribution to the rural renaissance of the East Midlands as well as achieve benefits for their business. We want to hear from companies that are committed to working together to change the rural East Midlands for better economically, environmentally and for the benefit of the wider community
Why sign up?
More and more companies, of all shapes and sizes, now accept social responsibility as sound business sense. A company which is in touch with its employees, its customers, and its community is much more likely to benefit from good will, trust and loyalty - all key factors in achieving business success.
Being a good employer, making a positive contribution to local communities and minimizing environmental impact are increasingly seen as playing a key part within a successful business approach.
In order to start achieving the benefits, social responsibility can be tackled in bite sized activities, which makes it easy for all businesses to get involved. The Rural Charter for the East Midlands provides an easy way for your business to sign up.
Companies signing up to the Charter will be able to use the Rural Charter Logo for promotional literature and correspondence.
In addition, the first 50 companies to sign up to the charter will also receive:
- an opportunity to use the brand of 'Rural Business Champion', which will also be featured on the EMRAF Rural Charter Web-site.
- Profile and speaking opportunities at regional business events.
- Opportunity to have your profile and case studies on the special Rural Charter website and other publicity material
